CelluCircle is approaching another important milestone as work on our new pilot facility in Täby, Stockholm, moves into its final stages. With our team now based at the site and processing equipment being installed, the facility will soon provide up to 100 tonnes per year of textile waste processing capacity.
Earlier this year, we shared the first look inside our new facility as construction and infrastructure work was getting underway. Since then, significant progress has been made.
Over the past few weeks, the CelluCircle team has moved into the new offices at the facility, bringing our operations, R&D activities and pilot production together under one roof. At the same time, equipment and machinery have begun arriving on site, and our team is now busy with installation, commissioning and preparation for production.
The result will be an important new platform for the next phase of CelluCircle’s development.
From development to market
Once operational, the new pilot facility will have the capacity to process up to 100 tonnes of textile waste per year using CelluCircle’s recycling technology.
The increased capacity represents an important step beyond laboratory and smaller-scale development. It will allow us to process greater volumes of material, accelerate our R&D activities and continue optimising our technology under real operating conditions.
Crucially, the facility will also support the commercial launch of our recycled materials, allowing us to produce larger quantities for customers and partners as we begin bringing CelluCircle products to the market.
This means the Täby facility will serve several important purposes simultaneously: advancing our technology, supporting customer development projects and generating the operational knowledge required for our next stage of scale-up.
Building towards commercial-scale production
While completing the pilot facility is an important milestone in its own right, it is also part of a much bigger journey.
The operational experience, process data and learnings generated in Täby will help us define and develop CelluCircle’s first commercial-scale facility, currently planned for completion towards the end of 2027.
That facility will represent another major increase in processing capacity and lay the foundations for further production units as we work towards making CelluCircle’s technology available at increasingly significant industrial scale.
For now, our focus is firmly on Täby.
With equipment arriving, installation underway and our team already working from the new site, the facility is quickly moving from plans and construction into something very real.
