Our Technology

CelluCircle’s process is based on a highly efficient one-step fractionation process, which enables the separation of fibres in cotton-based textiles.

The cotton component is converted into nanocellulose, and the remaining synthetic fibers (polyester, elastan, acrylics etc) are recovered without generating any secondary pollution.

This innovative green, scalable and sustainable approach eliminates the need for complex and costly multi-step processes.

CelluCircles process is water based, use mild chemicals in a closed loop system at low temperatures.

The process also allows for the direct production of nanocomposites from discarded textiles. These recycled and biobased composites can replace fossile based plastics in 3D printing, injection- and pressmoulding.

One of the key strengths of CC technology is its ability to process a broad range of cotton-based feedstock, including blends. This innovative approach has the potential to revolutionize the textile industry by providing a sustainable, recyclable and cost-effective solution for managing textile waste.

To summarize – these are the key benefits of the CelluCircles process:

  • Ability to recycle the vaste majority, bulk, of post consumer textile blends
  • Sustainable, water based, low temperature process, using mild chemicals in a closed loop system.
  • The process delivers high value Nanocelluse from the cotton part.
  • The Nanocellulose can be used for the manufacturing of new clothes, or in many other attractive applications.
  • Synthetic fibres, e.g. Polyester, are released intact without depolymerisation, and can used for direct manufacturing of new textiles.
  • The process allows for manufacturing of Nanocomposites.
  • CelluCircles Nanocomposites can replace fossil based plastics in a variety of applications, injection and press moulding as well as 3D printing.
  • CelluCircles process is unique, with a pantent pending.
